Kala James Hill Signature Solid Top Mahogany Concert Ukulele – Model KA-JH-MHG-C
Kala James Hill Signature Solid Top Mahogany Concert Ukulele
Model: KA-JH-MHG-C
Designed in collaboration with acclaimed ukulele artist and educator James Hill, the Kala KA-JH-MHG-C gives beginning players something they don't always get—a starter ukulele with the tone and feel of a genuinely good instrument.
The solid mahogany top produces a warm, focused voice with plenty of character, paired with mahogany back and sides and a comfortable satin finish. Pocketed nickel frets create smooth fretboard edges, while the comfortable concert scale works especially well for students, families, classrooms, and first-time players. It even includes both D'Addario clear nylon strings and a bonus wound Low G, giving players room to experiment as their skills grow.
Includes UKE Republic Pro Setup for optimal sound and playability.

Why This One?
This is a particularly smart first ukulele for someone who plans to actually stick with playing. The solid mahogany top provides better tonal response than you'd expect from a typical beginner instrument, while James Hill's player-focused details make learning more comfortable. It's affordable enough for a first uke, but good enough that a player won't immediately outgrow it.
