Inspired by luthier Jonah Kumulae’s award-winning instrument from the 1915 Pan Pacific International Exposition, this Kala Pan Pacific Figure 8 soprano captures the charm and tone of early Hawaiian ukuleles.
Built with all-solid mahogany top, back, and sides, it produces the warm, mellow tone players expect from a traditional soprano. The distinctive Figure 8 body shape adds vintage personality while keeping the instrument light and comfortable in your hands.
Subtle details like the maple rope rosette, rosewood fingerboard, bone nut and saddle, and pearl-button planetary tuners give it a timeless look. The vintage-style headstock crest even nods to Kala’s hometown of Petaluma, home of the World Wrist-Wrestling Championship—a quirky bit of character that makes this instrument memorable.
