- The 1st Annual SouthEast UKE-2-Gether has come and gone. It was held on
August 29, 2009 in Lithia Springs, Georgia at Sweetwater Creek State Park.
We had an est. 50 that attended. Many who attended were acquainted already with
one another through the online forum Ukulele Underground, South East Ukers
group. They finally got to put Faces with screen names! There was impromptu jams,
checking out each others collections of ukes, hot dogs from Patak Meats, ukulele
shaped cake from The Edible Canvas & cookies baked by Mike Hu and a wide
variety of ukuleles on display from UKE Republic. We also had drawings for prizes;
hats & t-shirts from Kona Brewing Co., Strings from Aquila USA, Stickers from
Ko'olau, a hand carved mini uke charm by our friend & local artist, Joe "Uke", and an
Ohana ukulele, green SK-15.
- We would personally like to thank all that came out to show love for the ukulele & to
make friends with fellow ukers. We really enjoyed meeting everyone and look
forward to the next UKE-2-Gether! A BIG "Thank You" to all that came out early and
stayed late for set up & clean up!
